Senior Athletics  -  Phillip Paulus

We are very proud of the achievements of Phillip Paulus in athletics.  In February Phillip went to Luanda, Angola, to form part of the Senior National Team that participated there.  He received gold medals for the 100m (10,68s) and 200m (21,95s) respectively.

In March he participated in the Rossing Club Challenge Championships in Swakopmund and again brought back 2 gold medals for the 100m (10,4s) and the 200m (22,ls) respectively.

In the senior championships in Windhoek Philip won a gold medal in the 100m again with a time of 10.6s.  He was chosen as part of the senior athletics team that will take place in Botswana later this year.

Phillip is only 19 years old and already the fastest boy in Namibia. He wants to qualify for the Olympic Games in 2012 and says, "I don't use any supplements, I only run by the grace of God."

Etosha Secondary School is proud of this athlete who trains hard without any financial or other assistance.  We want to wish him all the best for his athletics in the future. May all his hard work pay off.
